There are two paths to an active account. The recommended and fastest one is picking your provider on the Slovak Financial Administration’s portal — your data then reaches us already verified by the state. You can also register directly with us using a form.
Path 1: via the Financial Administration Portal (recommended)
The first step happens outside our portal — on vpds.financnasprava.sk you pick us (SlovakoData) as your provider. The Financial Administration verifies your DIČ (tax ID) and sends us your verified details (company name, DIČ, contact e-mail and phone) together with a verification code that the Slovak Peppol network participant registry (SMP) requires for registration. Shortly after, you receive an activation invitation at that e-mail address.
Activation is a single screen: your company name, DIČ and Peppol ID are already pre-filled and verified, and you fill in the IČO (company ID), seat address, contact person and password. You consent to registering with the Peppol network by publishing your Peppol ID in the public SMP directory (mandatory — without it, no invoices can reach or leave you over Peppol), and optionally to publishing your company name in the public Peppol Directory. The account always starts on the free MINI plan (5 invoices included per month) — you can change the plan and top up credit anytime later in settings. Once saved, the portal welcomes you on the very same screen where the self-service registration below ends — with links to the recommended next steps.

Path 2: self-service registration
You can also register directly with us without the Financial Administration Portal — in that case, the portal walks you through a five-step wizard. It saves your progress in your browser along the way, so you can come back to it at any time.
Company Verification
You review the basic company details — name, IČO, and DIČ — carried over from registration, and confirm them by clicking Verify. Until you do, the Continue button stays disabled.
Consent to Peppol Network Registration
Peppol is a pan-European network for electronic invoicing — by registering, you gain the ability to receive and send e-invoices. The portal shows your Peppol Participant ID, automatically derived from your DIČ. This step cannot start the actual SMP registration on its own, though — the Slovak SMP requires a verification code tied to your DIČ, and only the Financial Administration can issue it, once you’ve picked us as your provider on
vpds.financnasprava.sk. Until that code arrives, the step points you to that portal instead of promising a registration it cannot deliver. As soon as the code arrives, this is where you give two consents — a mandatory consent to SMP registration and an optional consent to publish your company name in the public Peppol Directory — and registration starts automatically. You cannot send invoices until it completes, but you can continue through the rest of the wizard while you wait — there’s no need to come back to this step.
Billing
The third step is about choosing a billing plan — not topping up credit. The free MINI plan is selected by default (5 invoices included per month); you can also pick a paid plan right away — Štart, Pro or Korporát — or arrange Enterprise individually with our sales team later. Exact limits and prices for each plan are in the billing settings, where you can also change your plan and initial credit top-up at any time.
API / SAPI Configuration
This step is optional and can be skipped. You can generate an API key for direct REST API access, or create a SAPI client for ERP/accounting system integration. Both the key and the SAPI client credentials are shown only once — save them to a secure location right away.
Welcome and Recommended Next Steps
The wizard’s final screen confirms your account is active and offers a checklist of recommended next steps — generate an API key, set up a SAPI client, configure a webhook, or invite colleagues, each linking straight to the relevant place in settings. The Go to Dashboard button ends the wizard. Activation via the Financial Administration Portal, described above, ends on this very same screen.
The wizard’s final step — confirmation that the account is active, plus the recommended next steps.
